30 September 2007

I don't know how I feel about this yet.

Natasha Bedingfield's cover of 'Ray Of Light' by Madonna for the 'Radio 1 Established 1967' compilation.

OMGZZZ!!!#1!!!!1111!!!!SUGABABES4LIFE!!#!#@!111 etc, etc, etc.

SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
THE SUGABABES NEW SINGLE "ABOUT YOU NOW" IS OFFICIALLY #1 IN THE UK SINGLES CHARTS THIS WEEK!
AND IT'S #1 ON DOWNLOADS ALONE! THE ACTUAL SINGLES AREN'T RELEASED UNTIL TOMORROW.
OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG
I AM REALLY REALLY REALLY EXCITED IN CASE YOU COULDN'T TELL.

And to make things even better, only 8 days until their new album is released!
So here's a clip of 30 second samples from all the tracks on the album to get you ready for it's amazingness:

OMG, I REALLY CANNOT BELIEVE THIS. JEEEEEEEEEEZE!

29 September 2007

I wish I was this good...

...at lipsyncing.
I'm really really really jealous of her abilities.

28 September 2007

There's nothing you can do for me Mr. DJ.

OKAY, SO! Yet ANOTHER new track from the Sugababes' new album has leaked! A clip of 'Never Gonna Dance Again' has surfaced on PopJustice, and it's just amazing. The track was is rather Heidi-heavy in the chorus, which is obviously amazing. And the lyrics are soooo good. They have all become such good songwriters.

"And so I'm never gonna dance again,
I lost the rhythm when you said 'it's over',
And as the final record starts to play,
I feel the dance floor turning colder.
And so I'm never gonna dance again,
'Cause all the music in my world is fading,
I know it's never gonna be the same,
I guess my moves just never made it.
It's over, it's over."

27 September 2007

Genius.

I really am just loving the Sugababes more than you could ever imagine at the moment. And I realised just how much I love their acoustic performances. Whoever thought up the idea of turning 'Easy' into an acoustic song is just genius.

The live acoustic:

And the original:

SO GOOD.

Oh and please ignore Heidi's hair in the actual music video. It was a great idea gone horribly wrong. The video was the lead to their 'Singles Collection' album, so the whole idea was for Heidi and Amelle to look like the two members who founded the group with Keisha, so Heidi wore a red wig to look like Siobhan Donaghy. Good idea, but bad results. So yeah. That's all.

24 September 2007

Amazing.

I really don't have a clue where this is from, but I stumbled across it and it is AMAZING. I really hope it's the official cover, of that the official cover is anywhere near as good as this:

23 September 2007

These are nice.

Kate Nash has like the best creative director in the world. Her album/single covers are always just tooooo good for life itself. These new ones for 'Mouthwash' are SOOOO good.

Best part about the singles is that each format has its own b-side! And the amazing 'Stitching Leggings' is finally being released. It's all just too good. So buy 'Mouthwash' here and support the lovely Kate.

My new favourite person...

...is Mylo. He is honestly the best person in the world. He worked with Kylie on two songs for her album, but they didn't make the album, so what does he do? Leaks them the day the official tracklisting is released. Honestly, it's just too perfect. The two songs 'In The Mood For Love' and 'Spell Of Desire' are SOOO good. So if these didn't make the album, then the rest of the tracks must be amazing! So here they are:

'In The Mood For Love'

'Spell Of Desire'

Or maybe you're in disguise...

More Natasha Bedingfield. This video is soooo good, one of my favourites of the year so far. Not to mention that the song is gorgeous. So yeah, blog-worthy.

21 September 2007

OBVIOUSLY THEY'RE TRYING TO SABOTAGE HEIDI!

It's the only explaination for this, the new Sugababes album cover:

POOR HEIDI! Keisha and Amelle are probably jealous that they aren't as perfect as her, and had this awful image used on the album cover. I mean like what is up with the facial expression? Sabotage is the only explaination. I really cannot believe this.

Oh and by the way Keisha and Amelle, you sabotage plan isn't working very well cause Heidi's hair still looks better than both of yours. HEIDI = BEST HAIR IN POP. Dumb ho's.

Marvellous.

SO DRAGONETTE'S ALBUM IS FINALLY BEING PROPERLY RELEASED!
It was released to iTunes UK last month, but is being physically released in the UK Monday and in Canada on Tuesday! YAY! I'm seriously so excited.

1. I Get Around
2. Competition
3. Take It like A Man
4. True Believer
5. Another Day
6. Get Lucky
7. Jesus Doesn't Love Me
8. Black Limousine
9. Gold Rush
10. You Please Me
11. Marvellous (Bonus Track)

Say, say it again.

OKAY, I ABSOLUTELY LOVEEE NATASHA BEDINGFIELD.
I've kind of gone through phases of loving and being 'eh' with her, but as of now I officially love her. Her next UK single 'Say It Again' is sooooo amazing, and the video is pretty cute:

Highlights of the whole thing include:
a) It's kind of home-movie-ish? Which is pretty glam.
b) It has a pool in it.
c) NB's hair is almost as nice as Heidi from the Sugababes' in it, WHICH IS QUITE THE COMPLIMENT!
d) THEY CUT OUT ADAM LEVIN FROM MAROON 5'S VOCALS! THANK GOODNESS.

X.

OKAY I AM SOOOOOO EXCITED.
The tracklisting and release date for Kylie's new album have been announced! SOOOO EXCITING!

So, first off, it is officially called 'X' (X is the roman numeral for 10, and this will be Kylie 10th album for those living under rocks), and the tracklisting is:

1. 2 Hearts
2. Like A Drug
3. In My Arms
4. Speakerphone
5. Sensitized
6. Heart Beat Rock
7. The One
8. No More Rain
9. All I See
10. Stars
11. Wow
12. Nu-di-ty
13. Cosmic

I'm SOOOO happy that 'In My Arms' made the album! It's one of the track Calvin Harris did for Kylie. The demo of it leaked a few months ago and is seriously amazing. BUT! It apparently has been re-done with a new producer according to song credits that have leaked, so hopefully they are not official, or this new version isn't too different. Calvin has for sure produced at least one song on the album though, 'Heart Beat Rock'. You can listen to the demo of 'In My Arms' here:

Another of the leaked songs, 'Stars' is really good, but I'm not sure if it's album material, so hopefully it's been fixed up a bit. BUT THE MOST ALARMING THING IS THAT 'SENSITIZED' IS ON THE ALBUM! It's a reject from her 2003 album that leaked earlier on in the year. And it is sooooo boring and has these awful 'woos' in the background. I really don't see how it will fit into this electro-pop album. Hopefully if anything the 'woos' are removed.

SO ANYWAYS, YEAH THE ALBUM'S RELEASED NOVEMBER 26TH. I CANNOT WAIT!

17 September 2007

Change.

OKAY SO YET ANOTHER NEW SUGABABES SONGS HAS LEAKED!
The title track from their upcoming fifth album, 'Change', was performed at their IndigO2 showcase, and some fan videos of it have popped up on youtube. Their album is going to be SO AMAZINGLY GOOD. I need to hear the studio versions of this and 'Denial' a.s.a.p. So Island Records, feel free to send me an advance copy of the album, I won't tell a soul. ANYWAYS HERE'S THE SONG ALREADY:

"Ain't it funny how you think you're gonna be okay,
'Til you remember things are never gonna be the same again,
And ain't it crazy how you think you've got your whole life planned,
Just to find out it was never ever in your hands,
Change."

True drizzle.

I am now the owner of these:

Marc Jacobs True Drizzle Vans.

That's all.

16 September 2007

No, no and no!

Jeeze Gwen Stefani, get your act together.

First of all, you decide to release a fourth single ages after '4 In The Morning' (which, as amazing as it is, was quite forgettable as a single) and not only chose one of the worst tracks on the album, 'Now That You Got It', but remix it with some rapper-ish person, and then give it the shittiest video imaginable.

So let's just forget this whole fiasco ever happened and bring on the 'Early Winter' video, alright?

13 September 2007

Neon, metallic, electro - it's the whole package, basically.

Great song
+ Metallic clothes
+ Neon lights
= AMAZING VIDEO

It's by Dragonette, by the way. They're pretty much the best thing to come out of Canada in a LONG time.

Oh Heidi...

I love love love love love this new Sugababes promo pic. Heidi is just too good for life itself. Honestly. Best popstar in the world? I think so. She carries herself so well, I love it. And she has such nice hair, as can be seen in this video:

Please ignore when Amelle and Keisha sing, because they clearly cannot sing live, unlike Heidi who is perfect at everything. Duh.

That's all I have to say about that.

(Oh, and way to go singing overtop of Heidi during her part of the song Keisha. As if copying Rihanna's haircut wasn't bad enough, you're losing point quickly.)

11 September 2007

Oh what could have been.

VB! She really is major, isn't she?
Well this song, 'My Love Is For Real', was supposed to be her 4th solo single in the summer of 2004, but her label folded and it was never released. But it finally leaked online over the summer, so I figured I should post it's amazingness.

Songs that just shouldn't be performed live.

As amazing as it is, Girls Aloud you need to stop trying to sing 'Sexy! No No No...' live. It's just shit. Yes, you want to show you can sing and all that good stuff, but this just makes the song hurt my ears.

Example A: Live on the National Lottery

Example B: Lipsynced on GMTV

I think my point is proven, that's all. And just for the record, that live performance is the best of the bunch as far as live ones so far.

Round and round and round.

I love love love Annie! I've fallen back in love with her debut album 'Anniemal' and now demand that her second album be released immediately. On one of my random youtube rampages I found her video for 'Heartbeat' from a few years back and realised just how amazing it is. Definately worthy of a blog post, obviously, or else this post wouldn't be here, right?

It's kind of '2 Become 1' at some points, but that, paired with the abundance of balloons, probably just adds to the amazingness.

09 September 2007

Just do it with love, love, love, love...

OKAY, SO MY HILARY DUFF CONCERT WAS SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO AMAZING!
SO much better than her previous tours. The outfit changes, dancing, everything! It was a huge improvement. First off my seats were amazing! 12th row on the floor, so basically like 20 feet from the stage. AMAZING! I tried taking pictures but security yelled at me so yeah, that didn't really work out.

Anyways, so she performed like basically her entire 'Dignity' album, every song but 'Happy' (one of my favourites, unfortunately). And did a new song called 'Reach Out' which uses the instrumental from Depeche Mode's 'Personal Jesus', I hope it's her next single, it's so good! Although kind of scandalous for a Hilary song ("Sexual, physical, fantasy, maybe... don't you wanna reach out and touch me")

So she opened with 'Play With Fire' which started out as the Richard Vission remix and turned into the album version, then did 'Danger', 'Come Clean', 'The Getaway' and 'Gypsy Woman' before a quick costume change for 'Someone's Watching Over Me'. Then after another change she did 'Beat Of My Heart' and a medley of 'Why Not', 'Our Lips Are Sealed' and a new version of 'So Yesterday'. I forget the order after that but she definately did 'Never Stop' (with some other cover song mixed in), 'Love Is A Battlefield', 'Wake Up', 'Outside of You', 'Fly', 'No Work All Play', 'Dreamer', 'Dignity' and 'I Wish'. The encore was 'Reach Out' (which is seriously amazing, I cannot possibly stress that enough!) and 'Stranger'.

So yeah, it was basically amazing. And I got a rather amazing poster for my room from the show and a lovely tour programme that has SHINY STUFF on it! How glamourous!

(Oh and I'm such a bad blogger that I forgot to post this on Sunday and hit "save" instead of "publish post", jeeze I suck).

07 September 2007

It's still amazing.

Well, you see, I was on a Sugababes listen-a-thon early and was reminded of how much I love this song. It's definately the best track from the 'Babes album 'Taller In More Ways'. It's a crime that it wasn't a single. Here's the rather ace 'Ace Reject'

Oh, and take note of how it goes: verse 1, bridge 1, verse 2, bridge 2, CHORUS.
I must say that I love when songs don't go into the chorus after the first verse or bridge. SO MUCH BETTER! There's another version that goes: verse 1, bridge 1, chorus, verse 2, bridge 1, chorus, etc! And it's no where near as good, obviously.

TOMORROW...

...I get to listen/see this. In person. LIVE. Right before my very own eyes.
You're extremely jealous, obviously.

It's rather shit, actually.

Okay, first off I must say just how much I HATE when artists use shorter versions of songs in the video. On the radio, sure why not use the "radio edit" or whatevz you want to call it. BUT USE THE WHOLE THING IN THE VIDEO! It really doesn't sit well with me.

So, that's my first complaint about Kate Nash's new video for 'Mouthwash', but it's not the only one. The video itself, is rather shit. Like when you have a song like 'Mouthwash' it deserves a GREAT video, just like 'Foundations' had, but instead gets some stupid roller-disco/performance theme video? Where did that come from? Although I must say that Kate looks adorable, and the video is rather well done. It's just not good enough for such a great song!

And here is Kate's AMAZING video for 'Foundations'

Finally!

Talk about taking things slow. Less than a month until the single is released and the Sugababes finally premiered the video for 'About You Now' today. And I LOVE IT!

The best bit is that they use the album version which has a longer first verse and bridge and more chorus' at the end with different adlibs. BRILLIANT!

Basically, the video shows the 'Babes singing and dancing intermingled with a story of a boy trying to find a girl to tell her how he feels about her now. He's running, so it seems pretty big. He even jumps over things. And runs from the day into the night, so she must be far away. That's about all I can gather from the video, fairly simple. BUT STILL AMAZING. Oh and there's lots of silver and shiney things - SO GLAMOUROUS!

Highlights of the video include:
a) Heidi's outfit
b) Heidi's hair
c) Heidi in general.

SO HERE'S THE VIDEO

02 September 2007

Move over Beyonce...

...because Kate Nash just totally made your version of 'Irreplaceable' sound like shit.

That's all.

It's rather ... Heidi-heavy.

Which clearly means that it is AMAZING!
The Sugababes premiered the second single from their upcoming album this week, nearly a month before the first single from the album is even released. If you read a few posts back you can hear the first single 'About You Now', but this one, 'Denial', is even better! It's rather drum'n'bass and slightly electro-pop in bits. But the best thing is that Heidi sings the ENTIRE song.
